Ransford Gyampo Questions Government’s Approach to Narcotics Control

Political analyst Prof. Ransford Gyampo has questioned the government's approach to combating narcotics in Ghana, calling for consistency and accountability in the fight against drug-related activities.

In a strongly worded statement, Prof. Gyampo argued that government cannot claim to be confronting the narcotics menace while decisions and controversies surrounding drug-control operations continue to raise questions.

“You don’t turn cocaine into kokonte; withdraw narcotics control from physical inspection of cargo; & get your sitting MP busted for cocaine & still insist on a right to open your buccal cavity on these matters.”

His comments have sparked debate over the credibility of government’s narcotics-control measures and the need for transparency and equal application of the law.
